Default Bounty Bosses

this has nothing to do with the bounty effect or anything, but more of a "Bounty" system where every week or so, a bounty is given out in LA/Kamadan/Kaineng.

One thing i notice in the GW universe is the lack of "Epic" battles where you and your party fight a giant boss of some sort. (other than a few of the dungeons)

An NPC in said location would give you a quest, describing a general location of the Boss, and then you would need to go find and destroy it.

Example:

Quest Giver: "You're looking for a challenge then? Well I hear that Pukefist Corpsegrinder was spotted wandering the Crystal Desert. If you think you are up for the task I think I can get you a decent reward."

The boss would be in one of the explorable areas in the Crystal Desert, but your map will not tell you its exact location or even the explorable area it is in, but there can be clues to help you pinpoint the location of the boss.

The Boss itself would be huge (like a normal monster, but the size of a Desert Wurm or something) and of sufficiently high level.

Almost like a branch off or continuance of the Glint quests when you finish Prophecies.

Each week the location would change and it can be in any of the 3 campaigns (so sometimes there will be one on Elona, but if you do not have the campaign, you cannot go for the bounty)

The areas described would be vague to say the least, the quest giver would only say "The Magumma Jungle" or "Vabbi" or "Echovald" requiring the player to actually explore to find the boss.

This is just an attempt to mix the "scavenger hunt" idea like the moa egg, with exploration and an epic battle at the same time.

Would the hint have anything to do with GuildWiki showing a map of exactly where the boss is?

Make the location randomly generated, then. Or have like 10-20 different locations so it would be impractical to use Guild Wiki and search every single one.

Either that, or just don't put the locations on Guild Wiki... lol

Anyway, it looks like an interesting idea.

it wouldn't only be one explorable area either, each time the same "area" is given (lets say Crystal Desert) then it could randomly be anywhere in 1 of the 7 explorable areas, and could have several different spawn areas for each one so you cant just search all 7 in the same spot, you would need to search several spots in all 7 until you find it.

And i don't know about level 80, but 30-50 would suffice, and depending on party size as well.

Hm... This reminds me of many things.

1.- Maw the Mountain Heart sometimes appears using some of the spawn points of Shiverpeaks bosses, including all Grenth's Footprint bosses.
2.- Molotov Rocktail. That guy is HUGE.
3.- This old idea of mine: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10083596

So, instead having to talk to an NPC, why not just make it spawn completely randomly?

You are running... or Vanquishing... and DANG! Replacing one of the bosses of the area, the party of the boss and maybe nearby creatures, you find a Massive Golden-skinned Boss that will spawn a 'end-chest' once killed.

Each region could have 3 bosses:
- Ascalon: Devourer, Gargoyle, Stone Elemental.
- Shiverpeaks: Ice Elemental, Nightmare, Dryder.
- Kryta: Skale, Skeleton, Ettin.
- Maguuma: Oak Tree, Spider, Troll
- Crystal Desert: Hydra, Drake, Beetle.
- Southern Shiverpeaks: Griffon, Nightmare, Ice Imp.
- Ring of Fire: Drake, Wurm, Phantom.

That could appear anytime, anywhere in the region, replacing a normal boss.

location(s) it is all random, you can't just automatically know where it is even if its on wiki...

technically if it can spawn in 3 places in any given explorable area, with all 7 explorable areas categorized under "Crystal Desert", that is 21 different places wiki could list it for ONE "area" so having it on wiki wouldn't matter too much. They would still need to search those 21 areas.

They would need to update the wiki page every week then, and who cares anyways? unless you find other people with the quest you only can do it once per week anyways. And if people want to fight the boss then there shouldn't be anything really stopping them.

I would love this under one conidtion, if the boss will spawn diffrent locations everytime and will wander the map so we can acutlly look for and not rely on wiki

good idea, give it a "patrol" route that it can take around the map, making it more difficult to aquire
